New Level Creek Pump Station

Owner: Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources

Engineer: Arcadis G&M, Inc.

Recommendation Letter

This project included a new 20 MGD cast in place concrete pump station and 2.5 million gallon storage tank constructed on a limited site located within a gated community adjacent to the third green of a Nicklaus designed golf course in Suwanee, Ga. The pump station and storage tank structure required a sheet pile and rock face cofferdam 65 feet below grade with an extensive rock anchor system to stabilize the foundation. The two stage Flygt pumping systems consist of 470 horsepower wet pit and dry pit pumps with variable frequency drives. The project also included a large chemical feed system, a self contained odor control system, an above grade electrical building with underground access to the pump station and a fully redundant stand-by power generation system. Yard piping systems included two 36” high pressure discharge force mains and a 48” influent line, all tied in to existing piping systems.
